Promo: Kid's Table

Today the visitors to the SCW’s main site were treated to the latest promotional video that Samantha Raine has shot to hype her upcoming match against Alexis Quinne. As visitors to the site click play on the video, the loading icon appears directly in the center of the especially for those that choose to play the video in full-screen mode. The video buffers for a moment before a logo with a rain cloud appears on the screen as the video starts to play.

{Raine Drop Entertainment.}

The cloud logo fades away to the words “with” before another logo shows up in the video. This one looks a lot like the sound effect bubble from the 1966 Batman series, but instead of a word in the center of it… it’s a skull with a bullet hole in the forehead.

{Serial Thrilla Productions.}

That logo fades away and once again the words “In Conjunction with” which gives way to the SCW logo. Which soon fades away to the words “Presents: Sam Raine in” before it fades into several different clips of both women wrestling various matches from throughout their careers. Finally, the video fades into one last logo that is Breakdown’s, but underneath it is just plain words is “Kid’s Table”.

When the video finally gets to the “never before seen” footage of Sam’s promotional video, she’s sitting at a table and what looks to be a mom and pop’s dinner. In fact, it is the very diner that she visits very often when she needs to clear her head before a match. As she sits at the table her hair is braided into French braid pigtails and she is wearing what appears to be some kind of Disney t-shirt underneath a high school varsity jacket of some sort. She has a bag of something sitting in front of her that she starts to reach in to, but before she can retrieve anything from the bag a familiar voice at least to Sam addresses her.

“As I live and breathe, little Sammy Raine, has come back to my little corner of the world,” Said the voice that brought a smile to Sam’s face as it was the voice of one of the diner’s lifelong waitress’ Shannon. Sam doesn’t know the woman’s last name, but the two have a close bond with one another. During a time when Sam was grieving over the loss of her mother, Shannon was grieving the loss of her daughter. The two naturally become surrogates for one another.

“Sorry about that… it’s been a little hectic,” Sam said and she knew that Shannon would understand. Shannon while not a lifelong fan of wrestling… in fact, she doesn’t watch any kind of wrestling unless she knows that “her girl” is wrestling.

“It’s fine… you want the usual sweetie?” Shannon asked as she started to make her way back to the counter to place the order. As it’s always the same thing every time… a fresh hot cup of hot cocoa with double marshmallows.

“Yes please, a double shot vanilla latte,” Sam said, with a slight giggle because she knew that was nothing close to what she was going to get. It’s just an inside joke between the two women.

“Now Sammy, you know I can’t serve that to a twelve-year-old,” Shannon said, with a wink before disappearing from view of Sam and the camera that is recording the scene at the moment. Sam finally pulls something out of the bag in front of her. She looks it for a moment and it’s recognizable as a piece of Sour patch kid’s candy.

“Sour patch kids are a great way, to sum up how I feel about my match with Alexis Quinne,” She says before she places the candy in her mouth. She only chews it a couple of times before she makes a “bitter beer face”. “It goes without saying that they leave a bitter taste in your mouth. Much like how due to Alexis’ and my small stature we look more like we should be sitting at the kiddies table than wrestling on Breakdown.”

Sam shakes her head slightly as she tries to shake the taste out of her mouth. As it becomes clear that she isn’t a big fan of the sour candy. “It’s also a great way to describe how I feel about my losses recently.” Sam sighs just thinking about the one that stings the most which were the loss in the first round of the Trios tournament.

“From losing one match. Then another. To coming up short in Trios. Or losing to Regan for what seems like the millionth time…” Sam saying it out loud seems to improve her mood slightly, because even though the losses still suck it hurts a little less because she isn’t bottling that angst up within herself.

“But for as devastating as these losses were, I need to put them out of my mind and focus on the task put before me on this coming Breakdown.” Sam stops to collect her thoughts. “Of course, Alexis is going to make me work hard in attempting to win the match. Since she’s more than likely going to mention every shortcoming I’ve had probably since joining the SCW roster up until now. She’ll probably even have something witty to say about my friendship with Crissy Gardner. If that is what she has to do, then, by all means, go right ahead.”

Sam pauses for a moment as Shannon comes back with the mug of Hot Cocoa and the marshmallows that Sam graciously accepts from her. It looks like Shannon is going to say something to Sam, but before she can she’s is beckoned to another part of the diner by another customer. Sam places the mug in front of her and blows on it slight watching as the steam is blown away from the hot liquid goodness.

“Just know that for every negative comment given, I’m going to be that much more motivated to get the job done against you, Alexis. You might think you have my number because you are undefeated against Crissy… Oh, wait. My bad. I forgot the last couple of times that you two have in the ring against one another she’s managed to turn the tables on you. I think it’s now like your three wins to her two. But I digress it isn’t about your matches against Crissy. So don’t think that because you’ve had some luck in previous encounters with Crissy who has had the same kind of training that I have. As what happened in the last match you had with her? She was the one who left the ring victorious. The same will be said about our match when I win.”

Sam after blowing on the mug of hot cocoa again finally takes a sip of the contents. She smiles widely as the favorite hot beverage of kids everyone warms her to the very core. Which is where the video comes to an end.
